Dell tem Latitude Série E

Você deve ter visto por aí um monte de blogs falando do novo notebook Dell Latitude, né? Todos falando que a bateria é highlander e muitas outras coisas. Pois bem. Primeiro vamos desfazer alguns mal entendidos que você pode ter visto em praticamente todos os blogs de tecnologia no Brasil.

As 19 horas de utilização do notebook Dell Latitude E6400 foram conseguidos com a configuração: Placa de vídeo Mobile Intel GMA 4500MHD, baterial principal de 9 células e bateria fina de 12 células e ainda um disco de estado sólido (SSD).

Ou seja, não é apenas uma bateria de 9 células que fez a mágica, mas sim uma de 9 junto com uma de 12 e ainda um gerenciamento de energia projetado pela Dell. Segundo PDF que você pode ler em português (ainda que de Portugal) você verá que este resultado é 27% melhor do que o tempo de utilização de notebook com bateria da HP.

Agora sobre o Notebook em si. Não vou falar dos processadores, tamanhos de tela ou pesos. Isto você pode ver no próprio site da Dell aqui no Brasil. Vou falar de seus limites. O modelo E6400 é, por exemplo, capaz de suportar até 8GB de memória RAM de 800MHz quando utilizado sistema operacional de 64bits, permite acesso a rede 3G com hardware integrado e tem também GPS, fora a rede wifi do tipo ‘a’, ‘g’ e ‘n’.

Os discos rígidos podem ser de 3 tipos diferentes. Pode ter sensor de queda, que faz com que o HD desligue-se quando percebe que o notebook sofreu uma variação de altura (como uma queda, por exemplo), pode ter ser criptografado, que faz que sua velocidade de rotação seja menor (5400RPM contra 7200 do HD com sensor de queda) e ainda um disco que tem rotação baixa sem penduricalhos tecnológicos que deve ser mais barato que os demais. Claro que existe também o HD SSD que tem apenas 64GB, mas o bom dele é que não tem partes móveis e permite que a bateria dure mais.

A tela tem dois tipos. WXGA+ e WXGA. A primeira deve ser sua preferida por sua resolução (1440×900 contra 1280×800) e por seu backlight que é de LED, e novamente, é o que economiza sua bateria.

O melhor desta lista extensa de características é o teclado iluminado que pra mim era exclusividade da Apple. Bom saber que outros fabricantes agora também tem esta comodidade. Ainda na lista “o melhor” tem o conector externo eSATA que permite ligar HDs externos em velocidades muito acima que firewire e USB permitem.

A decepção foi a saída de vídeo que é VGA. Poderia ser pelo menos DVI ou a desejada HDMI, mas… a boa notícia é que se você gostou de tudo e já quer garantir o seu modelo, você pode fazê-lo através do telefone. Basta ligar para a Dell do Brasil e pedir o se modelo preferido.
