Existem 3 modelos de iPhone 5, e agora?

Quando o iPhone 4 foi lançado, existiam duas versões disponíveis. Uma CDMA e outra GSM/3G. Se comprado lá fora, o comprador precisava ter atenção para não comprar o modelo errado, já que o CDMA não existe mais no Brasil.

Agora com o lançamento do iPhone 5 com LTE, a Apple teve que fazer 3 modelos. São eles: A1428, A1429 GSM e A1429 CDMA. Veja a lista de países para cada um deles aqui.

O modelo A1428 GSM suporta as bandas 4 e 17 do LTE.

Já o A1429 CDMA suporta mais bandas: 1, 3, 5, 13 e 25.

Por fim o A1429 GSM suporta as bandas 1, 3 e 5.

Então o que isto quer dizer? Que o Brasil não tem um modelo (ainda) destinado a banda escolhida pela ANATEL e se você comprar um iPhone, independente do modelo, ele não funcionará aqui em 4G. Apenas em 3G e GSM. 

Aqui, a banda em uso, ou destinada para o LTE, é a banda 7. Veja a lista das redes que já estão em uso no Brasil.

E então? Faz o que? As redes LTE aqui no Brasil precisam entrar no ar no começo do ano que vem para os clientes usarem, então, o LTE pode ainda demorar pelo menos 1 ano para emplacar. Você tem duas escolhas. Comprar um iPhone desbloqueado lá fora e usar apenas em 3G ou esperar o iPhone que suporte a banda 7, coisa que a Apple pode fazer até o final do ano.

    Bom minha tia mora no Estados Unidos e o iphone dela é o 5 e é cdma da operadora sprint. eu queria comprar dela por 200 dólares ela aceitou numa boa… Eu queria saber como faço pra desbloquea-lo e saber se ele funciona aqui no brasil?

      Se ele é CDMA, não irá funcionar no Brasil. Ele precisa ser GSM para funcionar por aqui.
