Por que a Apple não adotou o NFC ou carregador sem fio?

O iPhone 5 veio ao mundo e um ar de pouca inovação ficou no ar. O aparelho certamente é uma evolução na linha do iPhone e é um sucesso de vendas, já que em 1 hora, o estoque foi esgotado. Agora a espera pelo aparelho é de aproximadamente 2 semanas.

As principais novidades ficaram por conta do sistema operacional e não pelo hardware em si. A única coisa que chama a atenção no iPhone 5 (eu tenho vontade de chamar de novo iPhone, mas ele é o iPhone 5) é que ele é mais alto. De resto é muito igual ao iPhone 4 e 4S. A traseira tem apenas pequenas alterações.

Muito se fala de NFC, que é uma tecnologia que em tese seria para substituir a carteira para pequenos pagamentos, contudo a Apple ficou de fora desta novidade. Phil Schiller, que teve uma conversa com o All Things Digital, explicou por que o NFC ficou de fora.

Segundo a sua explicação o NFC ficou de fora, pois o Passbook, app que funciona como “carteira” para ingressos, passagens e cupons de desconto, já atende bem as principais necessidades dos consumidores. Cá entre nós, concordo, e vou além. É muito mais fácil e barato usar o Passbook do que usar NFC, que requer um hardware especial, tanto no smartphone como de quem vai validar o ingresso. Hoje os estabelecimentos já tem o hardware para validar ingressos e passagens impressas, então o Passbook funciona bem, já que basta apresentar o ingresso na tela com o código de barras. Bola dentro da Apple.

Já o carregador sem fio faz sentido não ser implementado também. O racional por trás também faz sentido, já que ele precisa ser espetado na tomada assim como o carregador atual. Na maioria das situações, este tipo de carregador deixa as coisas mais complicadas do que simples. Apenas para citar uma, hoje, você consegue usar o iPhone carregando na tomada na sua mão. Com o carregador wireless, ele precisa ficar sobre a plataforma, dificultando o uso na cama por exemplo. Faz sentido.
